Several generations of teachers and scientists created the history of the Department.
Today the academic staff of the Department of History and Philosophy consists of 12 people, including 2 Doctors of Philosophy, 5 Сandidates of Philosophy, 3 Cand. Sc. History, 1 Candidate of Economics sciences and 1 Candidate of Culture.
The Department conducts educational process in the following humanitarian disciplines: History, Philosophy for Bachelor`s and Specialist`s degree programs students; Philosophical problems of science and technology for Master`s degree program students; History and Philosophy of Science for postgraduate students.
The Department holds scientific and methodological seminars on Philosophy (by the Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor E.G. Krivykh) and History (by the Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Yu.V. Desobenko). In the context of the distance learning in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 academic years, all teachers of the Department mastered the methodology of online teaching.
The main fields of research activity of the Department are the following: innovative approach to teaching humanitarian disciplines at a technical (construction) university; traditions of university education development; historical aspects and modern cultural features of urban planning and architecture; the philosophy of the city; historical and cultural heritage of Russian cities and the protection of monuments.
All teachers of the Department conduct a lot of educational work with students: organize excursions to the sights of Moscow and the Moscow region and meetings with war and labor veterans aimed at patriotic education. The Department has come into contact with the New Drama Theater and organizes student visits to performances and creative evenings there.
