Delegation of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran visited MGSU
On December 23, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation Jalali Kazem visited MGSU with his delegation. The Head of the Press Service of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia Rahbari Nasrin, the Advisor on Scientific Issues of the Embassy Gudarzi Hadi, the Advisor to the Economic Department of the Embassy Mohammadi Kazem also took part in the meeting.
In his welcoming speech, Rector of MGSU Pavel A. Akimov expressed gratitude for the productive cooperation with the Universities of Iran. He also noted that Iranian students of MGSU are distinguished by their purposefulness and a serious approach to business. In turn, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary expressed hope for further successful cooperation of Iranian Universities with MGSU. Vice-Rector Vera V. Galishnikova made a presentation about the University and its international activity. Vice-Rector Armen Z. Ter-Martirosyan and Director of Scientific and Technical Projects Oleg V. Kabantsev told the delegation about the scientific and technical complex of MGSU and the participation of students and graduates of the University in leading engineering projects. MGSU was also represented by the Head of the International Cooperation Department Olga M. Makarova, Director of the Center of International Integration Olga B. Guseva and Director of the Center for International Education Elena S. Pakhomenko.
During the visit, issues of cooperation between MSU and universities of Iran were discussed. Due to the rapid comprehensive development of relations between Russia and Iran, the parties are interested in strengthening cooperation in the scientific and educational areas. It is planned that the interaction will be expressed in the exchange of students and academic staff, joint publications in various journals, joint research, etc.
At the moment, there is one English-taught BSc programme and 3 MSc programmes in Civil Engineering for international students to choose at MGSU.
