Graduation Ceremony for Foreign Students
On July 13, NRU MGSU hosted a solemn ceremony marking the graduation of bachelors, masters, and specialists -- citizens of foreign states. Over one hundred and twenty foreign graduates received memorable gifts in the Academic Council Hall in the presence of Andrey Volkov, Rector, NRU MGSU, Elena Gogina, Vice-Rector, Natalia Samotesova, Head of Department for Coordination of International Cooperation, Elena Tolstykh, Director, Centre for International Education, Department for Coordination of International Cooperation, and employees of the Centre for International Education.

It is noteworthy that the coverage of international cooperation, maintained by NRU MGSU, is highly extensive. The university graduates include the citizens of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine, Abkhazia and Mongolia, Palestine and Lebanon, Niger and Morocco. Many graduates arrived from China and Vietnam, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, and several other countries. All of them have joined the close family of NRU MGSU, and they will cherish the memories of the days spent at the leading Russian university of civil engineering.

Honoured guests and representatives of the embassies arrived at the University to congratulate the foreign graduates. Welcoming addresses were delivered by Karina Danielyan, Counsellor for Cultural Affairs, Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in the RF, Vugar Imamaliyev, Counsellor for Humanitarian Affairs of the Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic in the RF, by Jiang Ming, Second Secretary in charge of Education, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the RF, and Lê Chí Lợi, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Director of the Student Department.


Shah Sultan Akifi, Attache for Cultural Relations, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, spoke about the long standing and close relations between NRU MGSU and Afghanistan. The two graduates of the University took the top positions at the Ministry of Construction of the government of this state and left good memories behind. He added that representatives of this peaceful profession are popular in Afghanistan, their homeland looks forward to their return.

Amateur talent groups also participated in the solemn ceremony. Foreign students prepared and delivered several vocal performances for the graduates and guests of NRU MGSU.

After the event, foreign students, representatives of the embassies, Andrey Volkov, Rector, NRU MGSU, and Elena Gogina, Vice-Rector, had their picture taken in front of the university fountain.

The honoured guests took a tour of the university so that they could learn more about its history, principal achievements, rewards and milestones of its development.
