A DELEGATION FROM UZBEKISTAN VISITS MGSU

A delegation from the Karakalpak State University visited MGSU on April 11, 2019. The programme of the visit comprised a meeting with Andrey Volkov, Acting Rector, and the execution of eight agreements covering the network-based implementation of “Construction” and “Architecture” educational programmes, including:

 

08.03.01 “Construction”, the “Industrial and civil engineering” specialization (a bachelor programme);

08.04.01 “Construction”, the “Industrial and civil engineering” specialization (a master programme);

08.04.01 “Construction”, the “Water supply and water discharge by cities and industrial enterprises” specialization (a master programme);

07.03.01 “Architecture”, the “Architecture” specialization (a bachelor programme);

07.04.01 “Architecture”, the “Architecture” specialization (a master programme);

08.03.01 “Construction”, the “Production and application of construction materials, products, and structures” specialization (a bachelor programme);

08.04.01 “Construction”, the “Production and application of construction materials, products, and structures” specialization (a master programme);

08.03.01 “Construction”, the “Life-support systems in civil engineering” specialization (a bachelor programme).

 

The meeting between the top executives of the two universities was organized by the Department for Coordination of International Cooperation. At the meeting, the Karakalpak State University was represented by Akhmed Reymov, Rector, and Torebek Uzaqov, Dean of the Faculty of Civil engineering. MGSU was represented by Andrey Volkov, Acting Rector, Kirill Lushin, Director, Institute of Engineering and Ecological Construction and Mechanization, Tatiana Kuzmina, Deputy Director, Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Natalia Samotesova, Head of Department for Coordination of International Cooperation, and Kristina Ohotnikova, Head of Department of Development and Organization of International Cooperation.

 

The Karakalpak State University was founded in 1976 in Nukus. Akhmed Reymov, Rector, briefed the Russian colleagues about the university. Now this university has over 10 thousand students and almost 700 lecturers. The university has 10 faculties, including the technical faculty. It encompasses:

·         Department for the construction of buildings and structures;

·         Department for the construction and installation of engineering networks;

·         Department for architecture and urban planning.

 

The rector of the Karakalpak State University particularly emphasized the willingness to establish long-term cooperation with MGSU, to launch an exchange programme for lecturers and to implement joint research projects. After the execution of the agreements, the representatives of the Karakalpak State University made a tour of the premises of MGSU, visited its classrooms and laboratories, the library and the centres for research and education. The guests highly appreciated the material and technical facilities of the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering.
