The Annual Autumn Course "Build Your Future" took place at NRU MGSU
From November 7 to 21, 2018, the Annual Autumn Course “Build Your Future” was held at NRU MGSU. Students from M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences came to for the second year in a row has been visiting NRU MGSU to participate in it.
This two weeks long program consisted of theoretical and practical parts, specially created for RUAS Master Students. Abilities of NRU MGSU have made it possible to carry out the course. Students gained relevant experience and knowledge in Construction area.
As part of a two-week course, students became acquainted with the main areas of scientific and educational activities in NRU MGSU. They have also been shown our main laboratories and science centers.
Andrey Lapshinov gave lecture “FRP reinforcement in reinforced concrete members” and held an excursion to the Center for Expert Evaluation, Diagnostics and Testing of Engineering Structures. Nikolay Makisha, Ph.D., associate professor of the department "Water supply and Wastewaer treatment" spoke about “Sustainable environmental engineering” and shown to the students the Wastewater treatment plant “Vodokanal-Mytischi’. He also made a tour to Scientific and Educational Center for Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment.
Inozemtsev Sergey Sergeevich, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Building Materials and Materials, told the course participants about self-healing asphalt concrete in his lecture gave them an excursion to the Nanotechnology REC and showed it using the samples presented there. In her lecture on the topic “Unique buildings of Russia” Sysoeva Elena Vladimirovna, Ph.D., associate professor of the department “Design of Buildings and Structures”, spoke about the current trends in the construction of unique buildings.
Associate Professor of the Department of Physics and Building Aerodynamics, Ph.D., Churin Pavel Sergeevich told our guests about the studies conducted at the National Research University MGSU in his lecture “Aerodynamic and Aeroacoustic Studies in Construction” and gave them a tour of the Educational, Scientific and Production laboratory for aerodynamic and aeroacoustic testing of building structures.
Anton S. Pilipenko, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Building Materials and Materials Science, gave a lecture on the topic “Modern Construction Materials”, and Sidorov Vitaly Valentinovich Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnics, gave the course students a lecture on “Modern geotechnical construction”, and also conducted an excursion to the Geotechnics Scientific Education Center.
In order to familiarize students with the culture of Russia and its distinctive features, Semenova Larisa Yuryevna, senior teacher of the department “Russian as a foreign language” organized an interactive lecture on the topic “Russian people, culture and history”. Students were introduced to Russian folk art, showed a national costume, and also helped to learn folk songs.
Danilina Nina Vasilievna, Ph.D., Associate Professor, Acting Head of the Department of Urban Development, gave the students a lecture on transport planning, and Benuzh Andrei Alexandrovich, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department Design of Buildings and Structures, spoke about standards and prospects for green building. At the end of the autumn course “Build Your Future”, the students listened to a lecture by Alexey Igorevich Yurgaitis, a teacher of the department “Technology and Organization of Building Production”, about the organization and management of a building project.
In addition, participants in the course visited such significant places in Moscow as the Ostankino Television Technical Center, the Moscow City Business Center, Vodokanal-Mytishchi, and Nikolai Y. Vasiliev, an associate professor at the Architecture Department, gave them a walking tour around cultural and architectural heritage of Moscow.
Upon completion of training, each participant received an official certificate of completion of the Autumn Course. Everyone came to the award ceremony in Indian national costumes, which made her more festive and colorful. The students expressed their impressions and wishes regarding the course, and also expressed a desire to continue their studies at the postgraduate study program at NRU MGSU. The learning outcomes are evaluated in the international ECTS system; students can use the received credits in the educational programs of their university.
